On August 10, Zhora Zohrab Karapetyan, a soldier of the Nth military unit of the RA Defense Ministry, received a gunshot wound.

On August 10, 2023, a report was received from the Nth military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense that on the same day, around 6:50 p.m., in a combat position of the military unit, a soldier of the same military unit, Zhora Karapetyan, being on free duty, made a suicide attempt near the basement with an assault rifle attached to another soldier.

Regarding the incident, on the same day, criminal proceedings were initiated in the Eighth Garrison Investigation Department of the Main Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, in accordance with Article 523, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code.
Later, in the early morning of August 11, a report was received from the hospital that Zhora Karapetyan, who received the gunshot wound in the head, died.

As a result of urgent actions carried out on August 11, two fellow servicemen of Zhora Karapetyan were arrested on the basis of incitement to suicide by a group of people by negligence while he was on combat duty or during combat service.

According to the preliminary data obtained at the current stage of the investigation, the serviceman committed suicide as a result of behavior characteristic of non-statutory relations.
