On August 27, 2023, a report was received that on the same day, at around 4:00 p.m., in the combat position of the protection area of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, soldier Artyom Haykazyan, an observer of the combat position, fatally wounded Armen Khachatryan, a soldier of the same position, from the "AK-74" rifle attached to him, and then fatally wounded himself in the chin area with the same weapon.

Regarding the incident, criminal proceedings were initiated under Article 155, Part 1 and Article 522, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code.
