On December 4, 2023, a report was received from the military police of the RA Defense Ministry that on the same day, at around 2:35 p.m., while performing engineering work in the combat position of the Nth military unit of the RA Defense Ministry, serviceman Gerasim Arakelyan was shot by an Azerbaijani sniper. The serviceman died of a gunshot wound on the way to the medical center.
