Safe solidieres for safe Armenai
Peace Dialogue NGO is starting a two-year project entitled“Safe Soldiers for a Safe Armenia“. The aim of this initiative is to stop violations of human rights in the armed forces and to develop Armenia’s safety and the safety of the soldiers who protect it. The organization hopes that this project will result in greater public awareness about the poor human rights situation in the armed forces. In order to create a public demand for solving this problem, Peace Dialogue also expects to mobilize and involve local, national, and international actors. These stakeholders can, in turn, involve experts from the European Union, NATO, and OSCE
The project is also expected to help reform the educational curriculum of the RA Ministry of Defence. This can be done by developing and submitting suggestion packages and teaching manuals to support the development of officers-in-training with an advanced level of military education on human rights. In pursuit of these expectations, various activities are being planned for this initiative based on the peculiarities of each target group mentioned above. The interests of the groups and the methodology of mobilizing them are also taken into account in planning activities.
