On June 18, at approximately 11:30 pm in the north-eastern part of the contact line between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani forces a special squad of Azerbaijani Armed Forces attacked an Armenian combat base near Chaylu (Aygestan) village in Mardakert. According to the official data, as a result of the attack Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army’s four temporary soldiers were killed and four were injured. Junior Sergeant Mnatsakan Gasparyan and privates Arayik Barseghyan, Edvard Manukyan, and Paruyr Melkonyan were killed. Junior Sergeant Garik Matevosyan and Privates Galust Badasyan, Andranik Arzumanyan, and Harutyun Mesropyan were wounded.
